WHY WE EXIST

VISION

Washington State nurses reflect the rich demographics of our State, and are leaders in designing a transcultural and inclusive quality health system that is equitable and available to all.

MISSION

WW-NAHN is committed to advancing the health of Latinx communities in WA State, by leading, promoting, and advocating for educational, professional, and leadership opportunities for Latinx nurses and students.

GOALS

WW-NAHN was founded as a local chapter of The National Association of Hispanic Nurses to:

  • Increase recruitment of Latinx students into nursing education programs to reflect WA State’s demographics;

  • Increase retention, and graduation rates of Latinx students in nursing education programs; and

  • Eliminate health disparities affecting Latinx populations, by increasing numbers of multicultural nurses

       working in underserved areas of WA State, and through community-based health promotion and disease

       prevention projects and  programs.
